This conference will catalyze an interdisciplinary dialogue among researchers, clinicians, and policymakers about the implications of recent findings demonstrating that the quality of a childís earliest caretaking experience can have profound developmental effects. In addition to presentation of papers, we will show live videotapes of mother-child research and invite commentary from both research and clinical perspectives. The day will culminate with leaders in our field exploring the relevance of these findings for clinical interventions and policy change.
