Ilene Sackler Lefcourt will present parent-infant psychotherapy case material. Panelists will discuss the relevance of these data to psychoanalysis and psychoanalytic education. Discussion will include considerations of whether the psychological transformations that occur during the early mother-child relationship provide a unique opportunity for psychoanalysis, and whether the technique and theory of this parent-infant psychotherapy is relevant to psychoanalysis.
